I know a lot of people roll their eyes at the Amero-centrism of the SOPA/PIPA protest, but these bills do have the capacity to actively destroy the Internet.
The "debate SOPA" button DA had up yesterday is a joke. There is no debate: These bills create instant punishment on suspicion of infringement, collective responsibility (if some jerk uploads pirated content to DA, all of DA goes down, and all it takes is an anonymous tip!), and a complete chilling effect on those of us who are trying to share our creative works without restriction.
So even if you detest online piracy, these bills will hurt you too. Even if you're outside the US, these bills will hurt you too.
All that SOPA and PIPA do is hurt innocent people, and line the pockets of the corrupt!

I feel any way that best method for not US citizens to disagree whit US's restrictions to freedow on internet is not be against US's laws, but cry for national investment on internet tecnology. To decentralize the infomation infrastructure is imperative ones only US citizens (even in theory) could control it's present core.
It's bad enough US invading distant places to force other people, whit others historical references to be more "civilized".
I for my part do not want to start trying to do the same thing with the United States. even if it were possible it would not be correct. They (unidestaters) have done the arpanet, let's they regulate it as they see better.
Eventually global government will be unified. But I share that is in our life time.
